The noble look of wood at a more affordable price
Engineered wood is made by gluing a sheet of genuine wood onto a thicker substrate like plywood or high-density fibre. The result is a wooden surface that can be sanded 2 or 3 times during its lifetime. The Oaka collection is of ABC grade with a slightly brushed surface that is 10% matte and is factory-made using UV light, which renders it extremely strong.
Engineered wood is better at resisting humidity and heat than hardwood. It is therefore suitable for areas where you want the authenticity of wood, but without the worry about warping that can occur with hardwood. For cleaning, however, it is important to avoid using large quantities of water.
Installing and laying engineered wood is also more economical and practical than for hardwood. Engineered wood can be installed directly on an acoustic membrane, which makes it very convenient for condominiums. It can be glued or nailed.
